Joomla! 1.6 has been released and the J!Research community cannot stay behind. J!Research 2.0 development has officially started and you can contribute to make this project a reality by becoming the sponsor of any of the upcoming features.  Roadmap for J!Research 2.0 includes two alpha releases including:

Alpha 1 (mid-May)

• Support for publications, staff members and research areas like in J!Research 1.x
• Possibility to add staff members without a Joomla! account
• Basic access control support

Alpha 2 (end of June)

• Support for projects and theses like in J!Research 1.x
• Linkage between projects, theses and publications
• Addition of projects and theses from frontend

If you are using J!Research, you will eventually have to migrate your site to Joomla! 1.6 whenever Joomla! 1.5 is not longer supported, thus you want a fully functional extension for Joomla! 1.6. Those are the ideas we have in mind for our next major release:
